Welcome to the Grassroots Giving e-Newsletter, we will be updating you monthly on all the events and important information so that you can be aware of everything going on with Grassroots Giving. It is our way of reaching out to our community for support and to thank those who keep this program going and expanding. |
"In 2008, when Missy Gibson, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, saw continual funding cuts having an impact on the neediest families of the community, she set out to do something about it.
What she created is a charity that is helping to change the lives of children, one extra-curricular activity at a time. Grassroots Giving, based in Daytona Beach, is a community funded organization that helps to provide needy children in the area with a chance to engage in activities they might not otherwise ever get the chance to try-the very activities which, according to most experts, enrich a child's life and ultimately helps them do better in other areas of their life."

Grassroots Giving Field Day for the Holly Hill Boys and Girls Club April 30th 10am-1pm
Holly Hill Boys & Girls Club, 1044 Daytona Avenue, Holly Hill Florida 32117 Free event for the kids - e-mail Missy Gibson or call 386-453-6400
This is Grassroots Giving's 3rd Field Day event for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Volusia/Flagler Counties. In every community, boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship in the streets. An increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know that someone cares about them. Boys & Girls Clubs offer that and more. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. Grassroots Giving will host a free and fun filled day for the Holly Hill Boys & Girls Club! The day will include field day games (flag football, kickball, tug-o-war, spoon/egg relay race, 2-legged race, etc), face painting, lunch will be provided and free give-a-ways for the kids.

Testimonial of the Month
"I just wanted to take the time to thank you for what you are doing for my child. What a blessing your organization has been to my life as well as hers. I honestly wouldn't be able to afford to pay for dance for my child. I am raising 3 children alone without any help from their father or any other adult (except for government assistance). I work and am in school working towards my nursing degree. I too one day want to help families like mine. You are making such a difference in her life. She is definitely more confident and happier since she started dance last year. My child struggled with her self-esteem in the past and dance has improved it greatly. Her attitude about herself is so much better.... Again, thank you so very much for everything that you do to help children. I pray God's Blessing's over everyone that is a part of or has helped in any way with Grassroots."
