Ertl & Kistemaker Business Law Group is a women-owned and operated business law firm. There was a time when law schools had more men than women, but current times prove the playing field is now even. Additionally, the number of women judges in the probate and family court has increased experientially. Some people have the mistaken impression that a woman lawyer is more or less aggressive than a male lawyer, or a female lawyer is more or less compassionate. The selection of a lawyer should be based on the expertise of the field you need legal support in, experience, historical results of success and the responsiveness of the individual.

Some people think that women attorney's are better because they think they listen more, are sympathetic and want a resolution quicker. They may also think that juries may have a more favorable impact in certain cases, especially when the woman is defending a man accused of harming a woman. Remember that all these thoughts are based on stereotypes and are not necessarily true.

Your best option is to choose an attorney, male or female, with the qualifications and experience that will best serve your needs. As with any major purchase, doing your due diligence can save you from costly mistakes.
