An 80-story wood skyscraper has just been proposed for a Chicago waterfront. This skyscraper would be the tallest wooden high-rise in the world. The current tallest wood building is the 18-story Brock Commons residence hall at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver. Wooden skyscrapers are certainly an unique addition to city skylines, and it will be interesting to see how many of these buildings will be built in the future, as other wooden projects have already been completed or are in the process of being built. This includes a proposal from a PLP Architecture and a team from the University of Cambridge for an 80-story, 984-foot timber residential tower that would claim the title of second-tallest building in London.
